Lower Austria’s biggest and most famous excursion destinations want to be more than just one of many tourist attractions – which is why we’ve joined together to form the group of “Lower Austria’s TOP excursion destinations”. We are united by a desire to offer our visitors a special level of quality in all areas.

More than 65 criteria had to be met by each destination before they were accepted as a member of the group, with bilingual ticket office staff, attractive waiting areas and well-stocked shops being just a few of the long list of requirements.

Niederösterreich Werbung GmbH has not just taken on responsibility for the project management, but also sends “mystery testers” on excursions. Due to the enormous diversity amongst us, we have split into five categories, which are nature parks and experience destinations, convents and monasteries, museums and exhibitions, and mountain railways and boat trip companies. We, the top excursion destinations in Lower Austria, have also produced a map as a joint marketing activity. This map is available from all the members of “Lower Austria’s TOP excursion destinations”.
