Naturpark Hohe Wand
The 1,135 metre high and 8 km long Hohe Wand rises from the plain like an island in the Viennese Alps, in southern Lower Austria. The impressive rock walls can be conquered using the climbing rope or over alpine hiking trails. Those who prefer a leisurely pace can take the 3 km panorama mountain road to reach the wooded plateau.
The various circular hiking trails of 1.5 km to 10 km in length lead to the most beautiful viewpoints – The Skywalk observation deck, rock trail, lookout tower … offer exciting views into the distance from on high.
Who will discover the Nature Park Treasure? A free treasure map is available from May – October in the Visitor Centre Nature Park. Younger visitors can follow the animal tracks in the Hohe Wand Nature Park, live like a marmot and climb like a goat. The tame deer and the petting zoo animals are particularly popular: You can even hike through the special cultural landscape with a llama or alpaca.
